Sheffield Makes Music is a day long, city-wide celebration, with performances showcasing Sheffield’s rich music tradition. To help honour the special place classical music has in the Steel City, the Sheffield Youth Orchestra will be hosting the Sheffield Makes Music Orchestra for a covered performance in front of the Winter Garden at 5pm. We’re looking for orchestral musicians of all ages (grade 5+ standard) to join us for the exciting 50-minute performance, which is in partnership with Yellow Arch Studios and the University of Sheffield. We’re inviting you to a general rehearsal on Saturday 27 May, but if you’re unable to make that you’re still very welcome to join us on the day.

SYO's main concert this term will be a celebration of some of the best classical music in the youth orchestra repertoire.  Joined by Jonathan Sherwood on oboe in Cimerosa's Oboe Concerto, the ensemble will enthrall and delight with music by Tchiakovsky, Wagner and Bernstein.
